HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!
micro WEDDINGS
elopements
It’s officially summer time and I am excited to share my first wedding of the season! Today I share with you Caroline and Bryn’s Washington DC summer wedding at Toolbox in Dupont, Washington, D.C.
Caroline and Bryn’s Washington D.C. summer wedding truly took place all over the city! We met up at their getting ready location, the Washington Hilton in Dupont Circle. And their first look and all their portraits took place at the Georgetown University campus, where they and most of their wedding party went to college. And finally, we ended the day at the super cool Toolbox Pilates and Art Studio. We got a tour of the city and so many stunning photos along the way!
Caroline and Bryn met their freshmen year of college when they were assigned the same dorm building. It was there they forged a friendship, alongside a bunch of other freshmen in their dorm. Those same friends made up their wedding party, including their officiant! It was senior year when Bryn took his year-long crush to the next level, and he and Caroline officially started dating.
Caroline and Bryn’s Washington D.C. summer wedding had two themes: laughter and tears. Their wedding party definitely brought the laughter! I was photographing bridal details photos in a separate room in the bridal suite, when I heard the joyful sound of laughter coming from the getting ready area. That laughter continued throughout the day and doubled when the guys were brought in! It was fun to be around such a close group of friends, who were so happy to celebrate two of their best friends tying the knot.
If the wedding party brought the laughter, Caroline and Bryn brought the tears! They wrote and shared their own vows, and they both had the place in tears. By the sounds of all the sniffling, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room! Their words were so poignant, vulnerable, and eloquent. They were both able to perfectly convey how they felt in a way that just resonated so deeply. I’d say these two are a pretty great match, based on that alone!
The celebration continued with toasts, a group photo, and dancing (and a surprise gift of Adidas Stan Smith Originals for the groomsmen!). And the night concluded with a visit from the Captain Cookie truck! I mean, what could be better than that?!
Congratulations and best wishes to Caroline and Bryn!
