You get to meet another pair of REHP Love Birds today! I’m excited to introduce you to Emily and Sam via their Georgetown waterfront engagement session!
Emily and Sam have *the* sweetest meet-cute story – and that’s because it involves Sam’s dog (now, their dog), Tundra. Sam was working at a local restaurant when he saw the beautiful Emily there, eating with some friends. The next time she was there, Sam made sure his friend brought his dog, so he would have an easy ‘in’ to talk to Emily. So, basically, Tundra made the connection for these two and the rest is history!
Sam and Emily are getting married next summer at the Winery at Bull Run. I personally love the Winery at Bull Run because it’s scenic and picturesque. But Sam has his own reasons for why they chose that as their wedding venue, in addition to the views. He told me they were the one venue they visited that really had their stuff together! They answered all his questions before he asked and already have backup plans in case of inclement weather. I’m sure as a couple that’s super reassuring, and as a photographer, I like to hear those things as well!
In preparation for their big day, we got together this past weekend to do their Georgetown waterfront engagement session photos. Emily and Sam thoughtfully chose a Georgetown waterfront engagement session because it combines their two sides – Sam was living in D.C. and Emily was living in Virginia when they met. And now they live in Rosslyn, which is right across the river from the Georgetown waterfront!
And wait – I’m not done yet! There’s lots to feature along the Georgetown waterfront – so much so it’s sometimes overwhelming! But one of my fav places to shoot is this secluded spot at the far end of the waterfront. It’s a long walk and somewhat of a sketchy climb – but the views are so worth it! I asked Emily and Sam if they were up for it, and they said yes. Once we got there, Emily revealed that Sam has a tattoo of the view we were looking at! The Key Bridge (his fav bridge), with Rosslyn in the background! It felt so serendipitous that we ended up in that spot. I love that we got to include a location that showcased locations with special meaning for these two love birds.
These two are just so cute together and after meeting them in person, I’m that much more excited for their wedding next July!
