HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!
micro WEDDINGS
elopements
It’s the fourth week in a row where I get to share REHP Love Birds engagement photos! Today it’s all about Emily and Marshall and their winter Alexandria engagement session.
Double the Celebration
Emily and Marshall are having a very holiday centric celebration surrounding their wedding events! They are getting married late this year on Thanksgiving weekend, in Clifton, Virginia, and we did their winter Alexandria engagement session just before Christmas! We even got to include a Christmas tree in their photos, but more on that later…
Alexandria, But Make it Christmas
Emily grew up nearby in Clifton, where they’re getting married; she met Marshall in Arlington; it just seemed fitting to do their engagement session in Alexandria! What a beautiful local trifecta! Emily and Marshall were looking for a pretty dynamic location for their engagement photos: history, water, green space. Alexandria has it all so we figured that was a good setting for their first ever photo session together!
In addition to wanting to include those three things in their engagement session, Emily also mentioned that it would be cool if we could also include a Christmas tree in their photos. I assumed Old Town would have their big tree up in early December when our session took place, but I wasn’t sure if it would be lit up since our session was in the daytime. When I drove by the town square on my way to E & M’s winter Alexandria engagement session, I noticed the tree was lit up! Woot woot! And lucky for us, when we were there, there was a group of carolers nearby that drew everyone’s attention. There was hardly anyone around in the background of our photos!
Love and Hockey
Emily and Marshall love having fun together, doing everything from practicing for Marshall’s softball team, to having friends over, to watching sports (as you’ll see, they root for different hockey teams to keep it interesting!), and that was evident during the fun time they had together during their session. What else is evident is how much they love each other. Especially Marshall! I just love when I put a couple together and one of them can’t help but keep their eyes on the other. It’s like I’m not even there. And that’s just how Marshall was with his beautiful fiancé. It was just the sweetest!
I’m excited for Emily and Marshall’s wedding later this year, and for now I leave you with their adorable winter Alexandria engagement session.
THE cutest!
Fairy tale vibes.
