I’m so excited for you to meet REHP Love Birds, Emily and Jacob, through their GW Parkway engagement photos along the Mt. Vernon Trail in Arlington, Virginia!
Before REHP Love Birds
I met and took Emily and Jacob’s GW Parkway engagement photos before they were even REHP Love Birds! The two were recently engaged and excited to have their photos taken, so we got everything scheduled as soon as we could. They knew exactly where they wanted to have their photos taken, and it was just a matter of finding the perfect day!
An Extra Special Location
Emily and Jacob are long time friends turned boyfriend-girlfriend turned fiances! They love spending time together doing all the things, but especially training for half marathons and other road races. In fact, their special connection to this stretch of the Mt. Vernon Trail is that they have trained there for races! They work nearby and it’s super easy for them to pop out before or after work to get in a run. I love when my couples have a close connection to the location where they want their photos taken, so I was more than happy to meet them there.
I actually like to reserve this location for people who have a special connection to it because it is a little high maintenance! haha It’s about a 10 walk to get to the spot where I like to shoot, and of course a 10 minute walk back to the parking lot. Not everyone is down for that long of a walk before we even get started taking pictures, especially when we have to dodge cyclists and runners the whole way! The good thing about it, though, is that it affords me the opportunity to get to know people before I even have my camera in hand, so I feel like it’s helpful in building rapport before we get started.
More to Come
Emily and Jacob must have enjoyed their time in front of the camera together, and really liked their photos, because shortly thereafter, Emily contacted me about their wedding photography! Of course I’m always more than excited to get to work with a couple for their wedding when I’ve already gotten to know them for their engagement photos. Emily and Jacob are planning a wedding with a really cool, thoughtful vibe at River Farm for later this year. I’m excited to see them again, and of course to shoot at one of my very favorite venues!
Until then, enjoy Emily and Jacob’s GW Parkway engagement photos!
