HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!

Happy Monday, friends! I hope everyone got to enjoy the weekend and that there was beautiful, late spring weather wherever you are! We had amazeballs weather in the DC metro area this weekend, and I took full advantage with lots of time outdoors. I even got a little sunburn! Not that I should be excited about that, but hey – at least that means the sun was warm enough to leave its mark!
I so despise winter, so about this time of year I’m ready to come out & enjoy the late spring weather! Friday night, I was excited to deliver the gallery for the Women Leaders in Business networking event put on by Kim Hudson of Claritas Creative the week prior. Got that out the door Friday evening and was able to enjoy the rest of my weekend with some time off from work. Woot woot!
It was a good thing I had the time off because I still had a lot to take care of around the new apartment. I have a little patio that I wanted to get all cleaned up so I can enjoy the space. My mom took me to lunch & then I put her to work, ripping out old azalea bushes, transplanting hastas, and putting down some pavers so I can eventually have a grill. Lemme tell ya, that woman is a beast in the garden! She was working her little tail off! haha I would post a photo of our work, but there’s still a lot to be done, so stay tuned for the before and after pictures in a couple weeks!
After me (and Milli – she was filthy!) got cleaned up, we went to Georgetown to pick up some new patio chairs from CB2 and then had dinner in Chevy Chase at Heritage Indian. It was SO good! Love me some Indian food. I felt liked I’d earned a mojito after all my hard work earlier 😉Sunday Milli and I went to my friend Alexis’ for brunch with her son, Apollo, and her hubby, Rob. Rob & Apollo made the most delish waffles, but somehow I only managed to get a pic of the prosecco… Typical.Alexis & I got all fueled up on brunch, then made an excursion to this new store, At Home. Y’all. If you live in northern VA, please do yourself a favor and go to this store! They have pretty much everything you need, home decor wise. It was like Home Goods on steroids. I got three new rugs:{Look at Milli’s goofy face in the background!}
And a bunch of other goodies for the new place. I put everything out as soon as I got home! I even put together the cabinet I ordered from Ikea, which IMHO was a pretty ballsy task to take on on a Sunday evening! But I got it all together in under an hour and pretty much felt like I was winning at life for the rest of the evening.Whew! That was my busy late spring weekend. How was your weekend?!
Stay tuned this week for a family photo session blog post tomorrow and a Wedding Wednesday post on, you guessed it, Wednesday! I’m going to be sharing about why you should make photography a priority on your wedding day.
