Starting my business has been amazing. It’s incredible to see how far you can go when you truly believe in yourself and have the word “YES” replaying in your mind. I’ve done things I honestly never dreamed of and it’s completely changed my life. Not to mention the half of my business that allows me to bring such joy, pride, and nostalgia to people’s lives through creating positive & organized sessions and everlasting photographic memories. I’ve manifested something wonderful for myself & my clients and I enjoy basking in that every single day. Needless to say, 2015 was a favorite in my book.
With the new year – 2016 – comes goal setting and reassessment. I asked myself, what do I want to accomplish this year? The whole point of starting my own business was that I wanted to pour myself into something I’m passionate about, something that brings joy to other people, something I can be fully creative with. When starting out I knew I wanted to gain as much experience as I could. I wanted to ‘shoot’ everything, or should I say, everyone! Babies, families, head shots! And while I love taking all of those photos, I want to be more focused in 2016.
In 2015, I had the opportunity to shoot two weddings and they were each such heartwarming, sentimental, love-filled, uplifting, romantic experiences – and that was just for me, the photographer! haha It was incredible for me to be a part of each of these events & I knew the service I was providing for my clients & their families & guests meant so much to them. And now I’m hooked!
In 2015 I was searching for direction & soaking in experience. In 2016 I still want to soak in more experience, but I know that I want to focus on shooting weddings & engagements. Capturing people’s true love through my camera is where my heart lies. Preserving those memories for my clients is what I’m meant to do. So in 2016, bring on the fiances! haha Let’s get married people!
There will be more to come on this topic in future blog posts, but for now, enjoy perusing some of my favorite engagement & wedding photos from this and years past. <3

Beautiful photos and what a great recap! I’m in love with the black and white photo of the couple near the huge window – so gorgeous! Here’s to 2016!
Thanks Summer! Those ended up being some of my fav photos too! It was raining that day so we had to shoot indoors quite a bit & lucked out with those awesome windows.
Happy New Year! I absolutely loved this post; I’m so excited for you! There is no better feeling than stumbling upon that one thing that really lights you up! I hope 2016 brings you lots of wonderful couples, and so much success!
Aww thank you! Yes, I’m very excited for 2016!
Best of luck to you in 2016
Thank you Anne! Ditto!
