Washington, D.C. Engagement Photographer
What do Union Station, a beautiful sapphire engagement ring, and a tulle skirt all have in common? This Washington, D.C. engagement shoot & one stylish couple, that’s what! I cannot express how thrilled I am to present you with these photos today. Don’t tell anyone, but this *might* be my favorite shoot. Ever.
Sometimes things come together in such a perfect, magical way, and that is how it happened that I came to be Ashley & Antonio’s engagement & wedding photographer. I was shooting the wedding of Antonio’s uncle (future blog post in the works!) in November & had the opportunity to have a quick convo w/ A&A regarding their upcoming wedding.
Let’s back up a hair though. My first sighting of the A’s was when they were walking into the chapel at Maria & Arthur’s wedding, and I remember thinking: wow – they are super stylish! They were killing it with their wedding attire! So when Ashley let me know she would be wearing a tulle skirt for their engagement session, I was 1. Unsurprised b/c duh! A tulle skirt is super whimsical & refined, just like Miss Ashley herself (& one Carrie Bradshaw in the opening credits of SATC!) & 2. SO excited! I could only imagine how great that skirt would look in their photos… and I was right!
Ashley & Antonio had a vision for their shoot: photojournalistic, urban, stylish, serious. (Well, that was their vision for the first half of the shoot. The vision for the second part of the shoot was something altogether fantastic & I will be sharing that next week, so stay tuned!) They love Union Station & I have to say that the tall arches & soft white of the building made for exquisite backdrops for their photos. A&A were professionals at having their picture taken & needed little instruction from me! They are obviously so in love, so happy, & that all shines through in these photos.
Oh! & Ashley is a makeup artist & did her own makeup for our shoot. It turned out great!
