HI, I'M RACHEL!

Spring wedding season is in full swing! I’m so excited to share with you Jenna and Michael’s early May classic Rust Manor House wedding in Leesburg, Virginia!
I had the pleasure of taking Jenna and Mike’s engagement session last year at the Lincoln Memorial. At the time, they hadn’t picked out a wedding date or venue. I was super excited when Jenna later reached out to talk about their wedding photography. And doubly excited when I heard Rust Manor House was their venue. I photographed a wedding there about five years ago, and absolutely loved the venue. I knew they had chosen a winner!
Jenna and Michael put so much thought, love, and planning into their classic Rust Manor House wedding. They created a beautiful, elegant, intimate, warm day to celebrate their marriage. Both Jenna and Michael have large immediate families – all of whom were included in their wedding party. Michael’s son, Mikie, was his Best Man, and Michael’s niece, Avery, was their flower girl. And close family from both sides were included in the getting ready suites, adding an extra layer of love to the morning.
Jenna and Michael’s excitement and good spirits were on full display throughout their classic Rust Manor House wedding day. They both took the rainy weather in stride! We decided to do the majority of their photos on the covered portico on the backside of the manor house. And to venture out into the yard for a few photos after the ceremony. That portico came in so handy! We were able to get natural light portraits, include greenery, and have plenty of space for some variety.
I have so many favorite parts of Jenna and Michael’s classic Rust Manor House wedding! First, Jenna and her dad’s first look was just the absolute sweetest! Her dad’s breath was literally taken away when he turned to see her. And I mean – can you blame him?! She looked stunning! And immediately following that was my second fav moment of the day: the bride and groom’s first look. Michael was so thrilled to see Jenna – and he really took his time to take in all the beautiful details of her classic Kleinfeld’s dress, plus her gorgeous hair and makeup.
There’s generally a moment during every wedding where I start to get choked up. Where I take myself slightly out of the moment to realize I have the best job in the world. At Jenna and Michael’s classic Rust Manor House wedding, that moment happened during the open dance floor. Jenna and Michael’s friends and family were having the *best* time! The DJ was great and people were dancing hard y’all! It was so fast paced and so much fun – it was simply a joy to capture.
I could go on and on about how fun, warm, and loving Jenna and Michael’s big day was – but instead I will leave you with the photos to see for yourselves! Congratulations and best wishes, Jenna and Michael! I just know you two have a wonderful life in front of you.
Much appreciation to Jenna & Michael’s vendor team for making a rainy day smooth sailing:
