HI, I'M RACHEL!

I’m excited to share with you Annie and Jared’s Washington National Cathedral engagement photos from earlier this summer!
MEMBER CONNECTION
Annie is a member of the congregation at the National Cathedral so when she saw on this very blog that I had taken engagement photos there for other couples, she mentioned she was interested in also having her and Jared’s photos taken there. And I am so glad she did! The National Cathedral is one of my top five favorite locations in DC (maybe even top 3!), so I’m always excited when couples have a connection to that spot and want to include it in their portraits.
CLOUDY SKIES – PERFECT PORTRAITS
The past few times I’ve had the opportunity to do Washington National Cathedral engagement photos, it’s been about to rain, and Annie and Jared’s session was no different! Luckily, we missed out on the rain and got beautiful cloudy skies – perfect for soft, romantic portraits. I always like giving my clients props when they choose fantastic outfits for their location. I just love how Annie’s neutral colored floor length gown just slightly pops against the concrete of the cathedral. And her floral print cocktail dress was such a great fit for the gardens!
NATURALS
If you follow along on Instagram, you might have seen a post I did last week where I talked about how most people think they have no idea what to do in front of the camera, and how normal that is. Yet some people actually do know what to do in front of the camera, at least some of the time – they just don’t realize it! Annie and Jared were a couple of those people. Their natural smiles and loving affection for each other translated so wonderfully into their Washington National Cathedral engagement photos. Just look at how they smile at each other! I definitely guided them along, but these are two naturals in front of the camera!
Annie and Jared are getting married later this month, actually, in Colorado! I figured it was the perfect time to share their Washington National Cathedral engagement photos here on the blog. Congratulations and best wishes, love birds!
