In looking over these images, I’m reminded of how lucky I am to have this job I love so much! It helps me meet people from all over the world, including folks from different parts of our own country, like Kristen and Austin here. I’m so excited to share Kristen and Austin’s Washington D.C. honeymoon portraits with you today!
Kristen and Austin are from Alabama and have such an incredible story! These two newlywed love birds met at Disney World! How adorable is that?! After meeting these two, I just love that Disney World is a part of their story because they are so sweet and charming together – it’s just the most fitting place for them to have met and started their love story.
That story continued on a trip to NYC over the summer when Austin proposed to Kristen in Central Park! Kristen is a wedding photographer, and Austin knew how important it would be to have that special moment secretly photographed, so he hired a local photog to capture it all! (P.S. I love that their proposal photographer was also named Rachel!)
Cut to this fall when Kristen and Austin had planned not only their wedding, but their honeymoon, and Kristen was thinking how she would love to have Washington D.C. honeymoon portraits to commemorate their time together after their wedding. Kristen reached out to me and we got it all booked for the week of Christmas, just days after their wedding!
Being a photographer, Kristen knew just the look she was going for for their Washington D.C. honeymoon portraits. She loves the light and airy look, so we decided on the Jefferson Memorial so we could get lots of white, plus classic D.C. scenery for their honeymoon portraits.
You guys, it was such a treat getting to photograph another photographer! haha Kristen and Austin are pure magic together naturally, plus being that they’ve been photographed together so often, they were a breeze to take pictures of! Their joy is candid and it was so fun to take photos of such a sweet pair of love birds!
Congratulations and best wishes to Kristen and Austin on your wedding! I hope you enjoyed Washington, D.C.! Oh, and happy new year! haha So much to celebrate!
