HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!

It’s that day of the week again! The day when I pop in to say hi, wish you a great week, and share a little about how I spent my weekend. The weekend was filled with everything from the D.C. Women’s March to chasing a mouse around my house! Quite the rollercoaster!
So, I have a mouse in my house. And apparently my five pound yorkipoo isn’t all that intimidating to this ballsy mouse. Friday morning at 6:30 we woke up to the sound of scurrying. Never a good sound to wake up to! Sure enough, Milli sussed out the mouse in my office and I got a good look at him/her as he/she darted into my closet. Great. I was too tired to deal, so I sequestered me and Milli in my bedroom with the door closed for the rest of the morning. Long story short, the mouse has not taken the bait in the humane trap I set and it’s still at large three days later. Oy.
Saturday morning my friend Alexis came over and we prepared our signs for the D.C. Women’s March. We Lyfted into the city and joined the thousands of other women, men, and children on the mall. We even got to meet up with my friends Erica and Kelly by the reflecting pool and marched with them past the White House. It was a beautiful day to be outside, and it was made even more beautiful by the camaraderie felt between my fellow citizens. People who are angry but hopeful, peaceful, and determined. Freedom of expression, speech, and protest are wonderful rights and I’m so proud to have had the chance to demonstrate them at the D.C. Women’s March again this year.
After the march we continued on foot to Mandu to meet up with more of Erica and Kelly’s friends. I had my very first Bibim Bap bowl and it was fantastic! So tasty! Alexis and I Lyfted back to my house and I spent the rest of the evening waiting for a mouse sighting, of which there was one. Again – oy.
Sunday I Lyfted back to the city for brunch with Erica, Kelly, and co. at Commissary. Yum! If you’ve never had a breakfast quesadilla, you need to try one. After brunch I went home to do a bit of work before heading to my dad’s for dinner and to spend the night. Today I took photos for my nephew, Asher’s, second birthday and it was super convenient to cut the drive in half in the morning by staying at my dad’s last night.
That’s about it! I hope everyone had an equally inspiring weekend, minus any mouse sightings. Stay tuned this week for family photos tomorrow, Wedding Wednesday, and another newborn sesh on Thursday. Have a great week! :-*
