HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend! I had so much fun taking a little time off to rest and do normal person things like focus on watching TV (instead of editing at the same time), go out on a weekend night, and see my family! When you have two full time jobs, ya don’t get to do too much of that stuff on a regular basis, so I make sure to soak it up whenever I can!
Thanksgiving weekend marked my first ever launch of Black Friday and Small Business Saturday deals! These deals were extended solely to my email newsletter subscribers, so if you’re not on the list, there’s still time to partake in the deals! Shoot me an email and I’ll add you!
I spent the holiday at my family’s homes, playing games, eating all the food, and laughing with my family. We played a funny game with my nephew called Headbandz, where you put a card on your forehead in a headband and have to guess what’s on your card by asking everyone else questions. It was hilarious! Especially since half of us can’t see very well and kept having to get up and walk across the room to see what was on everyone else’s cards! Note to self: play more games! They’re fun!
From there I drove about an hour to my mom’s new house. It was our first holiday in her new home, so it was fun bringing our old traditions to a new space. Her kitchen is gorgeous and was super easy to host my brother and I cooking dinner at the same time. I’m looking forward to spending more holidays there!
Friday I made it to yoga and then got all dolled up for going out that evening! That pretty much never happens anymore! I almost didn’t know what to do with myself! I think my favorite part of the evening was enjoying champagne, mussels, and pommes frites at Lyon Hall at 11PM like a freakin’ European! haha Must.do.more.often.
Saturday I slept in like BOSS! 11:15 baby! That seriously never happens! After some homemade brunch it was off to Merrifield Garden Center and Home Depot for holiday decorations! I got a little tree, a fiddle leaf fig plant I’ve been waiting to get for foreverrr, and lights to decorate the house. I spent Sunday afternoon decorating for Christmas and now my house is so warm and cozy, I’m totes ready for the holidays!
I think the most important thing to come from this weekend was diving into Stranger Things on Netflix! I resisted for so long but finally gave in after a glowing recommendation from my brother and his girlfriend. It’s SO good y’all! If you haven’t watched yet – do it and thank me later.
I ended my Thanksgiving weekend by staying up a little late to get some editing done and was able to deliver a few galleries from family sessions earlier this month. Yay!
This week I am going to get up another blog post – this time I swear I’ll do it! Check back on Thursday to see one of my favorite family sessions from this season.
Have a great week everyone!
