Happy Monday! And good morning! The Monday morning after daylight savings is always a little rough, like a little bit of jet lag. But at least we gained an hour, right?! I was patting myself on the back yesterday for choosing daylight savings day as my one day off. No morning shoots meant I could take advantage of that extra hour, skip the alarm, and sleep in! Too bad I was still up at 7:00AM. D’oh!
October is for photographers what December is for retailers. Crazy busy! It’s refreshing and challenging all at the same time. It’s the perfect season to practice being gentle with myself. I haven’t been pressuring myself to keep up with social media or even to keep my house clean! There are certain things that have to slide when it’s the busy season… like blog posts. If you’ve noticed fewer blog posts this month, that’s why. I can’t wait to get back to it on a regular basis!
This past weekend I met with a family on Capitol Hill for their fall photos. Who knew Capitol Hill had such amazing autumn colors for us?! I was beyond thrilled with this particular location and the super sweet family in the photos 🙂
I managed to make it to yoga between shoots, and then Saturday evening I got to meet two more families in Arlington for their sessions.
I have to say, folks have been bringing their A game in the outfits department! They are putting my Photo Shoot Style Guide and Pinterest board full of ideas to work for them and coming up with outfits that are super stylish and photograph really well.
Sunday was daylight savings, rainy, and the perfect time to stay home! I made brunch at home, snuggled with Milli, read How To Be A Bad Ass (highly recommend!), and even cooked a second time – a Blue Apron dinner. If you follow me on Instagram Stories you know all about Romanesco Cauliflower now! You’re welcome haha
This week I’m hoping to crank out at least one more blog post, finish up some editing, and prepare for my three-day weekend. Woohoo!
