HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!
micro WEDDINGS
elopements
I’m always excited to share wedding photos, but today are a couple extra layers of excitement weaved in! Kim & Mike’s Keswick Vineyards autumn wedding in Charlottesville, VA, this past weekend was so beautiful, so incredible, and so, so special. Kim & Mike put a lot of thought into all of the details on their wedding day, but the bonus was that they put extra thought into their photography. Yay!
One extra layer of excitement to share these photos was Kim & Mike’s attention to their wedding photography, but the best extra layer of excitement is that I had the honor of seeing these two love birds tie the knot after getting to shoot their proposal just over a year ago! Mike proposed to Kim along the Potomac River in Georgetown, with the iconic Kennedy Center as his backdrop. The joy & love in those images still gets me choked up, but Kim & Mike gave me lots more to get me choked up over at their beautiful Keswick Vineyards autumn wedding!
The happy couple incorporated lots of touching moments into their Keswick Vineyards autumn wedding. Kim did a ‘first look’ with her father that was so sweet, it’s a wonder I didn’t melt into a puddle of tears of my own! They clearly have a very special bond and I’m so glad we were able to capture those precious moments for the two of them. Kim and Mike also did a ‘first look’ together that was the perfect mix of funny and romantic. They oscillated between cracking jokes and collapsing into sweet embraces and spontaneous kisses, and that joy I saw at their proposal was so present throughout their entire first look portraits session.
After the ceremony, we whisked the newlyweds away on the vineyards golf cart (weeee!) for magic hour portraits. I have to give a shout out to K & M’s wedding coordinators because we were early – a full 20 minutes early! – getting to their portraits and we finished them right on time! We got about 50 minutes with the bride and groom for portraits. 50 minutes they got to spend together being snuggly & sweet. 50 minutes of capturing so many amazing portraits, it was really tough picking which ones to share today! Such a great problem to have! And one that makes me happy because I know having lots of portraits at this beautiful venue was important to Kim & Mike!
There’s so much more to tell about this incredible day, but I’ll leave it at this: thank you to Kim & Mike for the honor of photographing your wedding. It’s clear you two are a perfect match and I wish you many more years of joy, love, and romance! Congratulations & best wishes <3
Lots of thanks to the vendors who created Kim & Mike’s perfect wedding day! It was a pleasure working with you and capturing photos of your beautiful work!
