HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!
micro WEDDINGS
elopements
Pippa Middleton wasn’t the only one to get married this weekend! Karlee & Matt did as well, with their Morrison House wedding in Old Town Alexandria on Saturday morning. The couple said ‘I do’ before family & friends at this gorgeous boutique hotel in Old town. The perfect place to start their lives together!
Karlee + Matt share such a beautiful love story. The kind that truly makes you believe in fate. Karlee & Matt met overseas and dated for a bit, but once it was time for them to return to the States, they went their separate ways. Fate wasn’t satisfied with that, so it intervened to have them both arrive in D.C. at the same time. Sure enough, their love couldn’t be denied & they ended up engaged & celebrating together with family & friends at their Morrison House wedding!
I was with Karlee & Matt for two hours on their wedding day, so we made the most of the time we had together. I met Karlee, her mom, and sis Martina, in the bridal suite at the Morrison House. These ladies were focused on getting the bride ready & down the aisle on time! Karlee’s mom & sister were so sweet & encouraging, easing Karlee’s mind & reassuring her, exactly as every bride needs on her wedding day.
The music started up for Karlee’s walk down the aisle (Sade, By Your Side), and the water works started! That song just gets me! What a beautiful choice for the aisle walk. Through teary eyes, I captured Karlee’s walk down the aisle at her father’s side, to meet Matt waiting for her. We all watched as Karlee’s family pastor performed the sweetest ceremony, complete with a gift, communion, and jumping the broom – and two recessions down the aisle! haha
From there I whisked away the bride & groom to the brick sidewalks of Old Town for their portraits. These two had so much fun with their portraits, smooching & laughing their way from spot to spot. After our portrait session we headed back to Morrison House for one final group shot. Their guests lined the dual stairways & threw change into the fountain, making wishes of love & luck for the bride & groom.
My wish for you, Karlee & Matt, is many years of love & holding tight <3
