HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!

elopements
A month or so ago I posted a blog with my high school friend Emily’s newborn daughter’s photos & mentioned how some things are meant to come full circle. Well this post is definitely another full circle kind of moment! More on that to come. But right now I am excited to share the photos from Margie’s Georgetown waterfront headshots session, which we took along K Street right by the Swiss Embassy. How fancy is that?!
I officially met Margie in 2010 when she was my officemate at a former job & what seems like a former life. She was in Contracts & I was a Marketing Analyst. We became officemates & very shortly thereafter I came into the office one morning a solemn, dejected hot mess, having gotten dumped over the weekend! (Haha – I can laugh about this now!) I let her know it was nothing against her that I was keeping to myself & why I was so melancholy, we bonded, & were friendly from then on! Margie is serious but has a tender heart & that’s what I love about her!
Margie moved on to another job but we kept in touch, and when she decided to go back to school to become an interior designer (yay!) she reached out to me to shoot some headshots for her. I didn’t have my photography business yet, in fact I’d only had my DSLR for about six months, but I was so honored she trusted me with this important task! We met up in the city, she brought her pup, & we took photos in a beautiful garden. She used those headshots for years & they are still some of my favorite photos.
This spring miss Margie graduated from design school – so many congrats! – and contacted me for a refresh of her headshots. If I was honored before, I was double honored to get to photograph her a second time around! She’s now working at a design firm located in Georgetown where she gets to design beautiful & functional commercial workspaces & is excited to use her new headshots for her portfolio.
Thanks for working with me again Margie! I hope these headshots take you far in your new industry! And I’m up for round three whenever you are 😉
