Fabiola & David enjoyed an intimate, loving wedding at Bistro Provence in Bethesda, Maryland, this past weekend. Their closest friends & family joined from near & far to celebrate their love & marriage, some coming all the way from Spain, where Fabiola is from. Even the couple’s dog, Sheldon, joined in the fun! The party filled the entire restaurant with love, laughter, & cheer into the night, and I was honored to capture it all!
One of the joys of photographing weddings is having the privilege of getting to be around so much love, and this intimate bistro wedding was no different. From Fabiola’s birthday wish for David to propose coming true that very weekend, to both of them repeating throughout the night how they were with the love of their lives, it was evident this couple is destined to be together. The wedding ceremony seemed like icing on the cake of their already exciting & happy lives together.
Fabiola & David began the evening of their wedding at Bistro Provence with signing the ketubah, where the bride & groom were joined by their matron of honor & best man at the request of the rabbi. One of the most moving elements of the entire evening was the Spanish translation of nearly everything, from the ketubah signing to the ceremony to portions of the toasts at dinner. I’m sure those words held extra special meaning to Fabiola to hear them in beautiful Spanish along with her now familiar English. Between the Jewish traditions and the Spanish flair, the celebrations this evening were truly the joining together of two meaningful cultures.
After the wedding ceremony & the breaking of the glass, the guests & newlyweds headed to the patio for a night filled with amazing food, fancy cocktails, Spanish guitar, & even a little dancing. It felt as though everyone had been whisked away to a little corner of Europe for the evening. And it was the absolute perfect weather for outdoor dining & celebrating. The air was light & breezy with not a touch of humidity – quite the feat for a DC area summer! That & the cake cutting topped off this lively, joyful celebration.
Congratulations & best wishes to the newlyweds!
Thank you to Bistro Provence for being the perfect, hospitable venue for Fabiola & David’s intimate wedding & dinner. And a special shout out to my friend Michelle at Little Blonde Cakes for the stunning (& tasty!) wedding cake, made of vanilla cake & champagne buttercream.
