Happy Monday, friends! It’s the first Monday of December and I am SO in the holiday spirit! I think the Scottish Christmas Walk in Alexandria, VA, got me in the Christmas-y mood! I want to do all the things, celebrate with all the people, and bask in the glow of the lights on my lil’ Christmas tree for as long as possible.
This past weekend I was successful at working in a variety of things: photo sessions, rest, play, personal photography, work, and cooking. That’s a pretty well rounded weekend! I actually wasn’t feeling so hot all weekend – stuffy nose, headache, scratchy throat, tired. But I rallied so I could enjoy all of that stuff I just mentioned!
Friday afternoon I got to meet miss Violet Jean to take her newborn photos. How cute is this little lady?!
From there I hopped over to Hairy Situations to pick up the Millster from the groomers. She looks so cute with her fresh cut!
Saturday morning I was up bright and early for a mini session with the sweet family belonging to this tiny human:
And then I got ready and we headed out to the Scottish Christmas Walk in Alexandria with my new (to me) 70-200mm f2.8 lens! Woohoo! I bought this lens specifically for photographing marriage proposals and the occasional close-up at a wedding ceremony, but it was fun to take out for fun this weekend. It’s a little heavy, but I managed to lug that thing around like a champ on our long walk around Old Town.
After the Walk, we made it over to Jones Point Park. I’ve never been before and I am in love! It’s so beautiful and I love the history associated with it. We watched the sunset and of course took photos 🙂
Yesterday I tried to accomplish two seemingly different concepts: rest and work. I still wasn’t feeling so great, so I decided to sleep in and then work from bed for the rest of the day. Worked pretty well! I got a lot done and was happy to not be snuggling in bed with Milli while doing so.
On tap for this week, you’ll see some fresh blog posts! Stay tuned for more photos from the Scottish Christmas Walk and another family mini session. Hope you all have a great week!
