HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!
micro WEDDINGS
elopements
Whew, last week was a whirlwind! I had the honor of photographing three weddings in one week, and today I’m excited to share the third and final wedding of week with you! Sheri and Matt tied the knot last Friday in a classic courthouse wedding ceremony in the City of Fairfax. And this wasn’t a typical courthouse wedding because their ceremony wasn’t inside the little courthouse ‘chapel’ – it was outside (praise hands emoji) in the courtyard!
Sheri and Matt met at a triathlon! And love doing outdoorsy things like hiking, biking, crossfit, running, swimming, the list goes on! Which might explain why even though they loved the appeal of a quaint, low-key classic courthouse wedding, they still wanted to be outside, enjoying Mother Nature while they said their I Do’s. The only thing missing was their dogs – I so wish I could’ve met them!
Just before the ceremony I met with Sheri and Matt for a quick, private portrait session before they met up with their guests. We made our way around the courthouse courtyard, following the good light, and making sure to stay out of the way of another classic courthouse wedding ceremony happening just beside us! Love truly was all around us that day!
Sheri and Matt had a group of thirty-plus loving and supportive friends and family there to witness their classic courthouse wedding ceremony, spearheaded by Sheri’s best friend, Kim (who was a huge help to me too, especially during family photos! Thanks Kim!). And the really cool thing was Sheri’s cousin is a judge in that very courthouse, and he was able to perform the wedding ceremony for them! He did an amazing job of putting together a thoughtful, touching ceremony, personalized specifically to the bride and groom.
Big congratulations and best wishes to Matt and Sheri! I wish you all the best!
Thanks to the following team who made Sheri & Matt’s day beautiful!
