Still in celebration mode over here! August marks the one year anniversary of when I registered my business in the commonwealth of Virginia – woot woot! Rachel E.H. Photography has been a legit business as a Washington, D.C. area photographer for one full year! To commemorate the passing of this milestone, I created a blog series to share three major things I’ve learned over the past 365. And today marks the last installment – today I’m sharing lesson number three!
Ingrained in my WHY (which you can read about here) is the idea that the life we are living today is fast paced. My clients are busy, driven, successful, and enjoy living their lives. It’s because of this that I aim to make their experience working with me not only fun, positive, and uplifting, but organized & efficient. And so much of what I’ve accomplished this year has been in this vain.
Lesson 3: To Be Organized and Efficient
I’ve implemented an actual workflow – an organized, efficient workflow that takes my clients from inquiry to final product in a pretty easy, breezy way.
I signed up for 17Hats, which provides my clients with personalized contracts, invoices, questionnaires, and more, all with one user interface that they don’t even have to have an account for! And I deliver the final product in an online gallery so that my clients are able to download their photos & save them directly to their own computer. No more flash drives or having to wait for their photos to arrive through the mail! Hallelujah!
One of my favorite things added to my workflow this year has been my Photo Shoot Style Guide. I collaborated with local fashion blogger, Style Me Thrifty, to put together helpful tips for my clients when they are planning their photo shoot wardrobe.
My being organized helps my clients keep track of each step along the process of preparing for their shoot & have confidence in my ability to provide them with exactly what they are looking for.
