So, Old Town Alexandria headshots might be my new favorite thing. There’s something about walking along the cobblestone sidewalks in such a historic town that’s managed to stay current at the same time. History is mixed with modern day cool in the form of hip restaurants, unique boutiques, & fashionable passersby. During this most recent photo shoot we even encountered someone cruising around the waterfront on this one wheeled electric skateboard thing. Doesn’t get cooler than that! You can see why Old Town has become my go-to favorite for headshots sessions.
That brings me to Sharon. Sharon owns a really cool business called Book Bliss Online, where she comes to your home or business, collects old books, and pays you to take them off your hands. She’s a life saver during a move, because as she says, if you ignore old books, they won’t go away (haha!). When I was preparing to take her headshots, I figured a great place to set the location of our shoot would be in close proximity to a library. She deals in books, libraries are kind of known for books – you get the idea. Her business is headquartered in Alexandria, VA, so I thought a beautiful, old library building in Old Town would be the perfect backdrop for her headshots.
I presented Sharon with a few library options & she chose the Kate Waller Barrett Branch right in the heart of Old Town. This is a perfectly aged, older brick building surrounded by lush foliage and is just a short drive to the waterfront where we wrapped up our hour long session. Sharon is so confident in her abilities in business & was open to my suggestions, which made for some great final shots! We started at the library & then made our way down to the waterfront, taking advantage of the gorgeous summer magic hour light & picturesque backdrops. Old Town never lets me down!
Thanks for such a fun session, Sharon! I hope these headshots work well for your ads & take your business far!
