HI, I'M RACHEL!

I am so excited to introduce you to REHP Love Birds, Kayla and Kris, with their summer National Cathedral engagement photos in Washington, D.C.!
Special Love Birds
I know I always say I’m excited to introduce you to REHP Love Birds, but that’s because I really am! There’s something special about all the couples who I get to know through the process of planning their wedding photography. Kayla and Kris are no exception and I’m just bummed I have to wait over a year and a half to see them again!
D.C. is at the Center
I just love the story of how Kayla and Kris got engaged, because it centers around D.C. K & K love to go for walks together around Capitol Hill – that is a special part of how they’ve always loved to spend time together. So when it was time for Kris to propose, he wanted to include Capitol Hill in the proposal. To make it extra memorable, he arranged it so they got to keep the flag that was flying at the Capitol building at the time of his proposal! How thoughtful is that?!
Kayla and Kris are getting married at another beautiful D.C. landmark, the Ronald Reagan building, so they wanted to complete the trifecta and include yet a third D.C. landmark in their engagement photos. Something a little more off the beaten path and still really striking and special: the National Cathedral.
Love for the Cathedral
What I love about the National Cathedral is that it checks almost all of the boxes for what can create beautiful scenery in a photo: greenery, gardens/flowers, architecture, history, and charm. (The only thing missing is water! But technically there is a beautiful fountain there, so… maybe this place does have it all!) I absolutely love getting to work there, especially when the flowers are still blooming in Bishop’s Garden.
Genuine Smiles
As I said before, there is something special about REHP Love Birds and Kayla and Kris prove my point with these summer National Cathedral engagement photos! Y’all, Kris is super funny, and he keeps Kayla in stitches. Those smiles you see are her genuine reaction to his wit and charming self deprecation. These two are so magical in front of the camera, and it was just so fun to capture their love and true personalities in their summer National Cathedral engagement photos.
You’ll get to see more of them in May 2023, but for now, please enjoy their engagement photos to tide you over.
Props to Kayla for choosing a vibrant dress for garden photos! Her dress literally matches those flowers!!
These two clearly have a lot of fun together!
