HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!
micro WEDDINGS
elopements
Wow, it has been a busy few months since I took these sunrise cherry blossoms maternity photos! I had a jam packed schedule from April through mid-June with photo sessions, packing, moving, grad season, closing on my condo, moving again, home improvement projects, unpacking, working – phew! It’s been a whirlwind! I’m finally taking time to catch up on blogging. What better photos to start with than Jen and Pat’s sunrise cherry blossoms maternity photos?!
Perfect Cherry Blossoms Date
Jen was excited that D.C. cherry blossoms season matched up perfectly with the appropriate time in her pregnancy to take maternity photos, and when she and her husband were in town for the start of his season with the Nats. We actually had to move up their session by a day to avoid some rainy weather, and it was totally worth it because they got *perfect* weather for their sunrise cherry blossoms maternity photos.
A Different Year
Cherry blossoms season is always hectic, due to the crowds. It’s always a challenge to have all pieces of the puzzle come together for the perfect photo: good light, full trees, empty/clean backgrounds, featuring DC landmarks, managing weather and wind, etc. This year was both extra hectic and less so, for different reasons. Due to the pandemic, they ended up restricting access to the tidal basin to cars and pedestrians. We had to have a permit in order to have access (which is always true, but this year they were enforcing it extra). But once we got to the tidal basin, it was nice to not have as many people around. Well, nice in practicality; sad because of the reason.
Meet Weston
It’s extra fun to look back on these photos now since I’ve actually gotten to meet Jen and Pat’s baby, Weston! He is so precious and was such a good lil’ guy for his newborn photos earlier this month. He even posed with their dog!
I’m excited to share Jen and Pat’s sunrise cherry blossoms maternity photos with you today to kick off my return to blogging!
I love this photo so much! Jen, you looked radiant!
Just look at her, rockin’ those Valentino rockstud heels in her third trimester!
