HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!
micro WEDDINGS
elopements
I remember hearing about Nicole, Ryan’s new girlfriend, from our friend Lauren a few years ago. Ryan sent Lauren a text the evening we were all having happy hour together at our favorite neighborhood spot. The text went something like, “Nicole is getting there before me. Be nice to her.” Haha! Lauren is the friendliest person on the planet, so of course we were going to be nice to her! We got to know Nicole & I’m so glad we did: these two love birds have been together ever since.
A year or so after our initial meeting, we were all invited to Nicole & Ryan’s apartment one evening as the final element in a couple days long string of surprises. The first surprise: Ryan had proposed the day before! He also surprised her with a new pair of Chucks (her favs) and a drum set, and the final surprise: their apartment full of family & friends to send them best wishes on their engagement!
We were all present at their wedding last October at the Masonic Temple in Old Town Alexandria & celebrated with them into the night at their reception. Nicole got ready for their wedding day at the Hotel Monaco in Old Town, so when I heard that, I knew it was the perfect place to start their Love Birds session with me two weekends ago.
Nicole contacted me a while back asking if we could set up a session before Ryan deploys later this spring. Of course! Not only was I excited to do a photo session with my friends, I was honored to capture this time in their lives before the two love birds will be separated for many months while Ryan is deployed.
I met Nicole & Ryan at the old Hotel Monaco, the new Alexandrian, donning my one & only pair of Chucks in their honor! We wandered the streets finding the perfect picturesque spots to stop for photos. We had such a great time & I’m so excited for how their images turned out!
