MORE ABOUT ME
Proud pup mom, type A creative, lover of the outdoors, Top Chef fan girl, and wedding and portrait photographer. Welcome to the blog!
HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!
micro WEDDINGS
elopements
I love getting to share wedding photos here on the blog! Especially beautiful, flower-filled ones like Rachel and Phil’s spring Ritz Carlton Georgetown wedding in Washington, D.C.
Rachel and Phil are long time sweet hearts, who met at the University of Florida. Their first date was at a coffee shop and lasted a record eight hours! I hear a lot of first date stories and many of them start with a date lasting an unusual number of hours. I feel like if your first date lasts eight hours, that is a really good sign for a happy future!
These two love birds now live in Norfolk with their adorable pup, Minnie (seriously – she rivals Milli for cutest tiny dog!). DC is a special place to them so they decided to host their small-ish wedding in the city. I say small-ish, because it was only small in guest count. Everything else was beautiful, ornate, and very intentional. They just had their closest family in attendance for their traditional Jewish ceremony, and hosted them afterwards for dinner in the Ritz’s swanky cocktail lounge.
My favorite part of Rachel and Phil’s wedding day was just seeing how excited they were to be together and say ‘I do’. The first time they saw each other was the classic aisle moment, where Rachel’s mom, Judy, walked her half way and her dad walked her the final half. Afterwards we got to spend a good amount of time doing their love bird portraits in the area surrounding the hotel. Rachel and Phil love Georgetown, so it was fun to get to do a mini tour or some iconic places during their portrait session. When these two are together, it’s like no one else is around – and I think you can really see that in their portraits.
My second fav part of Rachel and Phil’s spring Ritz Carlton Georgetown wedding was how they really leaned into the ‘spring’ part of their wedding. Their ceremony was outdoors and their chuppah was adorned with beautiful neutral colored flowers by Edge Flowers. There were flowers everywhere! From the chuppah to Rachel’s beautiful bouquet to the table arrangements and even on the cake. Y’all know how much I love flowers, so it was super fun to take all the details shots at Rachel and Phil’s wedding.
We stayed at their spring Ritz Carlton Georgetown wedding reception just long enough to hear some sweet toasts and capture the cake cutting, before we left the newly joined family to celebrate into the evening. Congratulations and best wishes again to Rachel and Phil (and Minnie)!
Rachel’s friends made her this scrapbook and her sister gave it to her right before she walked down the aisle. Cue the tears!
In love with these canal photos!
