Oh, you guys! I am so excited to share Kate and Luke’s DC cherry blossoms engagement photos with you! These two were an absolute dream to work with in such a challenging time and that makes these photos that much sweeter to share.
I want to acknowledge up front the situation we’re all in with the current world-wide pandemic. That is intricately woven into the story of Kate and Luke’s DC cherry blossoms engagement photos, so I would be remiss to to not mention it. Â Kate and Luke flowed with the changes that were coming up on a daily basis and for that, I’m so thankful! We moved their session forward about five days (the day before peak bloom!), got our photography permit from the National Parks Service, and were good to go!
Kate and Luke are both from New England, and plan on moving home some day. That’s why it was important to include D.C. – the city where they live – in their engagement photos. And what’s more D.C. than the cherry blossoms?! It was so important to Kate, that they booked their DC cherry blossoms engagement photos session way back in January!
With everything going on, this couple (and many others) was experiencing some disappointments with regards to their wedding plans. It was a joy to be able to give them at least one thing they’d been dreaming of and counting on during their engagement season: DC cherry blossoms engagement photos!
Despite those disappointments, Kate’s cheery demeanor never faltered! She and Luke showed up excited and ready for their close-ups! I think they extra appreciated the time outdoors, in nature, loving on one another instead of being cooped up in the house! I know I did too! (Minus the loving on each other part! haha We kept the respectable six feet apart!)
Kate and Luke, I wish you the best with the rest of your engagement season and hope your August wedding in Rhode Island goes off without a hitch!
