Oh man, am I excited to share Amanda and Nick’s beautiful, romantic, blush and white summer Woodlawn Pope-Leighey House wedding in Alexandria and Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, with you today! Get ready, because you are about to see *so*much*pretty!
I met Amanda and Nick last spring for their maternity photos at Bon Air Rose Garden. I love that their maternity session incorporated so many beautiful flowers because that’s kinda what their summer Woodlawn Pope-Leighey wedding was about too! Beautiful florals with a delicate summer garden theme. I love a tie-in!
I was so excited when Amanda contacted me about her and Nick’s summer Woodlawn Pope-Leighey House wedding; only at the time it was actually supposed to be a spring wedding, set in late April of this year. You can guess what happened… they had to postpone their wedding due to quarantine. I appreciate that I was available for their new date, because I definitely didn’t want to miss out on capturing Amanda and Nick’s wedding after having the opportunity to get to know them at their maternity session.
Amanda is super detail-oriented, so I knew her and Nick’s summer Woodlawn Pope-Leighey House wedding was going to be stunning with lots of focus on the details – and I was right! Everything from the delicate ribbon adorning her bouquet, to her custom made veil, to the subtle embroidery on the light blue and white linens at the reception were absolutely beautiful and picture perfect. I was in photography heaven!
As you can imagine, during this time, weddings tend to be even more sentimental and tender. And such was the case for Amanda and Nick’s summer Woodlawn Pope-Leighey House wedding. Amanda lost her father late last year, so her grandfather walked her down the aisle and danced with her and her son, Nicholas, at the reception. That dance was one of the most touching dances I’ve seen at the wedding – it was such a beautiful moment.
Besides the more tender moments, one of my favorite components of the day was Amanda and Nick’s total enthusiasm for romantic portraits! Nick was always excited to go in for a kiss, and Amanda was thrilled every time Nick literally swept her off her feet, including for their entrance to the reception. So sweet! They even indulged me and their videographer when we had them do multiple poses for night portraits at the very end of the night. Such good sports!
Congratulations and best wishes to the newlyweds!
I’d say the custom made veil was worth it!
If I didn’t know better, I’d say Amanda and Nick walked right out of a magazine!
Much appreciation to Amanda and Nick’s vendor team for designing and implementing a gorgeous summer Woodlawn Pope-Leighey House wedding
