HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!
micro WEDDINGS
elopements
It’s officially wedding season here at Rachel E.H. Photography! And I’m excited to kick it off with Kayla and Kristian’s Ronald Reagan Building D.C. wedding in Washington, D.C.
You probably remember Kayla and Kristian from their romantic National Cathedral engagement photos from 2021. The super exciting thing for me is that I also got to take Kayla’s graduation photos for her masters degree in spring 2022. That means I have gotten to photograph these love birds three years in a row. So cool!
To give myself some extra space to attend to some health issues, my associate photographer, Leah Wilson, photographed Kayla and Kristian’s wedding on my behalf. While Leah was the lead photographer for this wedding, I couldn’t help but show up for the first hour of the day to photograph the bridal details. I love that part of the day and was feeling up to taking those photos – so I did! It was so fun to see Kayla and put my personal touch on those photos. While I was definitely disappointed to miss the majority of Kayla and Kristian’s Ronald Reagan Building D.C. wedding, I knew Leah would take great care of them.
And take care of them, she did! It was so fun looking through Kayla and Kristian’s Ronald Reagan Building D.C. wedding photos! I got to see so many beautiful moments, it felt like I was there. Since I took the bridal details photos at the JW Marriott, I knew Kayla would be wearing two bridal looks. She looked absolutely stunning in both! This is definitely a trend I can get behind! She got to wear the classic ballgown for the majority of her day and got so many gorgeous portraits in that dress. And then she changed into the sleek party dress for the reception. Since she and Kristian decided to do night portraits, she got photos in her second look as well.
I love all of the photos Leah and Melinda were able to capture throughout Kayla and Kristian’s Ronald Reagan Building D.C. wedding! But I have to say, my favorite photos are the two of Kristian as he’s watching Kayla walk down the aisle with her dad. During my time with these two at their engagement session and Kayla’s grad sesh, I could tell how much these two love each other and what a great team they make. Kristian was obviously so excited to see his bride – and she did look stunning! Those photos are just the sweetest!
My second fav set of photos are the night portraits! If you are getting married in the city, let this be your sign to definitely include night portraits on your timeline! Not only are these photos epic and classic, I love how they really show the bride and groom’s personality. At this point, the big pressure moments of the day have passed and you can figuratively let down your hair and have some fun! It looks like Kayla and Kristian did just that! And Leah and Melinda knocked it out of the park with these portraits,
Congratulations and best wishes to Kayla and Kristian!
Kayla, you made one stunning bride!
I’m not crying, you’re crying!
Can you say, ‘EPIC’?!
