More more more! More kwanzan cherry blossoms portraits are on the docket today!
In case you couldn’t tell, I love cherry blossom season! (I mean is that really even a question at this point?) What’s even better about the season is I found a way to extend it. That’s right, for the past three weeks you’ve seen how: by taking kwanzan cherry blossoms portraits. And last year I lucked into getting to shoot with them multiple times!
The typical cherry blossom season lasts about 10 days in late March to early April. But after that, the kwanzan cherry trees come into bloom, and they have their own special appeal. I love them too and I’m excited to share another kwanzan cherry blossoms portraits session with you today!
Carl reached out to book a photo session with his wife, Romela. They had recently gotten married but didn’t have any photos. So this would be their first photo session together! They wanted to include cherry blossoms in their photos and by the date of their session, the regular trees were already past peak bloom. (They reached peak unexpectedly early last year… which we think will happen again this year.) I suggested we switch gears to the kwanzan cherry blossoms portraits and they happily agreed!
Carl and Romela are both active duty in the military and wanted to have photos taken in their fatigues. I’ve actually never photographed anyone in their fatigues, so I was excited to see that when they showed up! I just loved their dedication and how they were still willing to be romantic and sweet with each other while in uniform.
The light that morning was gorgeous, and I’m so in love with the photos we got, both at the Jefferson and with the kwanzan trees. This may have been Carl and Romela’s first photo session, but they seemed to know exactly what they were doing! They were so easy to work with and I’m just obsessed with their photos! Thanks for your service, you two!
