It may be January, but the weather feels more like spring. And we’ll be there soon enough! So today I’m kicking off my cherry blossoms season excitement with Courtney and Matt’s peak bloom cherry blossoms engagement photos!
As you probably know, cherry blossoms season is my favorite time of year. I’m not one for the typical holiday season, so cherry blossoms season fills that gap for me. In my world, cherry blossoms season is the most wonderful time of year! It signifies spring is here and kicks off the season by decorating D.C. with those delicate pink blossoms that I love to look at and be with. There’s an excitement in the air that I just can’t get enough of.
Last year was my seventh year doing cherry blossoms sessions. I got to work with so many wonderful people who had their photos taken with the cherry blossoms. We celebrated graduation, a children’s book set in D.C., pregnancy, engagements. And everything in between! Honestly, you don’t need a special occasion to have photos taken with the cherry blossoms. The blossoms ARE the occasion!
Right after cherry blossoms season came a very busy spring graduation and wedding season for me. So blogging the CB sessions fell off the to-do list. I decided to save a bunch of them to post this year in the lead up to my eighth season photographing the blossoms. That way we’ll get to build up the excitement and anticipation and extend the season a little. Because, why not have more of a beautiful thing?!
Courtney and Matt’s peak bloom cherry blossoms engagement session was one of the sessions I’ve been holding onto since last year. This one was tough to wait on! Y’all, not only are these photos some of my all-time fav cherry blossoms photos because of the light and the locations. They’re some of my favs because Courtney and Matt were just brilliant in front of the camera! Just wait ’til you see!
Courtney and Matt wanted to celebrate with peak bloom cherry blossoms engagement photos to commemorate their time in D.C. They were getting married out of state. Like, way out of state. In Alaska! Since they would be away for their wedding, including a special season in their D.C. engagement photos was important to them.
Courtney and Matt are married by now, but I hope this is a fun reminiscence on their romantic morning with the D.C. cherry blossoms! And if you’re interested in booking a cherry blossoms session with me for this year, click here to send an inquiry and get on the list!
Did this post get you excited to book your own wedding, micro-wedding, elopement, or engagement session?! If yes, send me a note and we can chat about what you have in mind: contact me
