HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!
micro WEDDINGS
elopements
Another weekend in May, another beautiful wedding! Today I’m excited to share Emily and Justin’s vibrant and colorful spring Westfields Golf Club wedding in Clifton, Virginia.
Vanderbilt Connection
Emily and Justin met at Vanderbilt University, and were friends before they officially became a couple. They have a large circle of friends from their college days, many of whom were not only present at the wedding – but were included in the wedding party! Emily and Justin were surrounded by so much love and support at their spring Westfields Country Club wedding. Their wedding party was super helpful – from helping coordinate the day to keeping track of important items – to even making parts of the decor!
Surrounded by Love
And when I say they were surrounded by lots of love and support, I do mean surrounded! Emily and Justin spent the morning of their spring Westfields Country Club wedding together, along with their entire wedding party plus family members! Everyone was together in the getting ready suit – eating, laughing, and just enjoying each others’ company. That came across to me as really touching, and showcased how intentional this couple really is. It makes total sense that they would want to spend as much of their big day together, and with their loved ones, as possible.
90 Degree May Day
Emily and Justin’s wedding day was a hot one! Thank goodness for Westfields covered porch and covered portico, where the ceremony took place. While thunderstorms were in the forecast, the majority of the day was super bright and sunny. There was very minimal shade in the area, so we ended up utilizing the covered porch and portico for much of their portraits. It was a relief to be out of the blazing hot sun! Besides that – I loved the white backgrounds!
Epic First Dance
My favorite part of Emily and Justin’s spring Westfields Golf Club wedding was their first dance! It was *so* good, and so beautiful! They did a skillfully choreographed dance to A Thousand Years, filled with spins and twirls, and ending with Justin literally sweeping Emily off her feet! It was so fun to watch and I could tell all her guests were impressed. I know I was!
Tradition!
Emily and Justin decided to do a tea ceremony to honor their parents during their reception. Justin’s aunt and uncle did an introductory speech to explain the meaning behind the ceremony, and his sister served the tea. It was so sweet and meaningful, and a joy to capture. Not to mention I loved Emily’s traditional red dress!
Congratulations and best wishes to Emily and Justin on your marriage! May the rest of your life together be surrounded with as much love and support as on your wedding day.
