It’s been so fun reminiscing on photos from last fall with these recent blog posts! Today I’m taking you back to this beautiful Lorien Alexandria winter wedding in Old Town.
Lorien Rooftop Suite
Katherine and Carl have been together for nine years and were excited to say I do at their Lorien Alexandria winter wedding. K & C got took their engagement photos on a beach and were planning to have their wedding on one too (two people after my own heart!), and of course, the pandemic had other plans. Instead of tying the knot at a waterfront ceremony, they decided to celebrate their nuptials on a rooftop in Old Town with just their immediate family. I mean, once you see the photos you’ll realize that’s a pretty close second!
Rooftop Wedding Ceremony
These two love birds enjoy doing anything outdoors together, so I’m glad the weather held out so they could have an outdoor ceremony at their Lorien Alexandria winter wedding. It was a little chilly that day, but with the sun shining and all the excitement in the air, it was barely noticeable. The suite at the hotel was the perfect spot for everything from their first look to their ceremony and even family portraits. They made it extra festive with the beautiful floral arrangements that matched Katherine’s bouquet.
Old Town Charm
After their sweet ceremony, Katherine’s dad was our chauffeur around Old Town for their portraits. They were excited to have some photos along the river to bring in that water element they were missing from their original wedding plans. And of course, I also had to take them to some of my favorite portrait spots around town to make sure we included some of that quintessential Alexandrian charm.
It was so lovely getting to know Katherine and Carl throughout our time together. Katherine was so giddy to be saying I do, and the loving look in Carl’s eyes throughout their ceremony speaks to how excited he was too.
A belated congratulations and best wishes to Katherine and Carl!
Beautiful light, beautiful subjects – I couldn’t ask for anything more!
