HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!

Maggy and Ryan had such a beautiful spring DC War Memorial wedding, and I’m excited to share some of my favorite photos of their big day with you!
NEAREST AND DEAREST
Maggy and Ryan were excited to welcome their closest family and friends for their spring DC War Memorial wedding celebration. And they got an absolutely beautiful day… except that it was brutally cold and windy! They were such troopers, though, and hung in there to get some absolutely gorgeous wedding photos.
FIRST LOOK
Just before their ceremony, Maggy and Ryan did a private first look on one side of the memorial, while their family and friends waited for them on the other side. It was such a romantic first look for these two love birds, and I was so honored to be the one there to capture it.
UNORTHODOX PROCESSIONAL
One of the things I love most about ceremonies at the DC War Memorial is that even though it’s a somewhat unorthodox location, we still get the whole walking down the aisle piece. There are two long walkways leading to the momorial – perfect for a wedding processional. Maggy’s dad walked her down the ‘aisle’, up the stairs, and into the monument to greet her awaiting groom.
FRIENDLY OFFICIANT
Maggy and Ryan had their good friend perform their ceremony at their spring DC War Memorial wedding. She did such a great job! I love when friends are the officiant, because they have such a unique perspective and get to share lots of sweet details about the couple that only a friend would know. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the place when Maggy and Ryan exchanged their vows. These two love birds are clearly a perfect match and meant for each other.
COLD BUT BEAUTIFUL
After the ceremony, Maggy and Ryan treated their guests to a cocktail hour at a favorite DC restaurant while we did a little tour around the mall and tidal basin for their newlywed portraits. We walked over to the mall and then across to the Lincoln to include all the quintessential D.C. sights. Like I said, it was freezing cold and these two love birds hung in there like pros for over an hour to get their beautiful photos!

Look at these love birds! So romantic!
Maggy, what a beautiful bride you made!
