HI, I'M RACHEL!

This year during cherry blossoms season I did something I hadn’t done before: mini sessions not limited to families. Erin and Conner decided to book a 30 minute session and I’m excited to share their vibrant DC cherry blossoms portraits with you!
CREATIVE SOLUTION
Since starting my business, I’ve always done 60+ minute sessions for adults. I’ve reserved 30 minute sessions just for families with children under 10, because I figure kids have shorter attention spans and 30 minutes has been the perfect amount of time for the little ones. I like giving adults more time to warm up in front of the camera, so I make sure to give them plenty of time with longer sessions. This year I was getting so many cherry blossoms inquiries and since there is just a small window when the blossoms are at peak bloom, I wanted to find a creative way to serve as many inquiries within that short timeframe.
The solution? Offering 30 minute sessions to adults! Over the years I’ve gotten pretty good at helping people feel comfortable in front of the camera, so this year I felt confident in offering 30 minute sessions to adults, knowing I would be able to help them feel at ease. Boy, was that put to the test! Both of the mornings on which I scheduled the mini sessions were literally freezing cold! I’m talking 30 degrees y’all! Whew! It’s always hard to feel at ease in the freezing cold (especially when you’re dressed for spring), but everyone managed to rock their sessions nonetheless!
CHERRY BLOSSOMS MEMORIES
Erin and Connor were one of the first couples who signed up for the 30 minute sessions. These two married love birds are planning to eventually leave the DC area and wanted some photos with the cherry blossoms to help remember their time here. Erin was super excited for their vibrant DC cherry blossoms portraits session and her favorite color is pink, which she highlighted with her gorgeous outfit.
I love when my clients are so excited for their photos that they’re totally up for trusting me to guide them through the session, even in unfavorable conditions – like crowds and cold. Despite the cold, Erin and Connor still managed to be happy and excited for their photos (just look at those smiles!), and even be romantic and especially loving with each other. I mean, it was probably really easy to snuggle up while it was 30 degrees!
