It’s an important time for Wendi! Not just because her Georgetown branding session is featured on the blog today – but because her new website is launching next week!!
My personal goal for my headshots and branding clients is to help them build credibility with their audience, colleagues, and especially clients. This was especially important for Wendi because she is continuing to build her life coaching business. I know from my own experience working with life and business coaches, you want to work with someone you can trust.
It was also important to Wendi to showcase her personality. What I know about Wendi from spending just a short time with her is that she is friendly, outgoing, funny, and easy to talk to and with – and I think her photos really highlight that. I mean, just look at that glowing smile!
OK, enough about all the background info on Wendi’s Georgetown branding session. Now you get to hear all about Wendi’s business, WellHaus Coaching:
What sparked your interest in life coaching and how long have you been doing this?
Coaching to me is a gift of time and space. I started working with a coach (and very close friend) 7 years ago after my son was born – I was struggling to find space for myself to both breathe and reconcile all of the emotions I was going through during such a huge life transition. I loved the idea that she wasn’t forcing a path for me, but more facilitating a transformational conversation. With a background in health and wellness, I loved the idea that I could create that space for others and not only support them through life transitions, but give them the tools to increase their confidence and resilience. I’ve been coaching since 2015 and have certifications in both health/wellness and executive coaching. Additionally, I have a background in health promotion and have been working in the field for over 13 years. Even when I am not working with a client, I find that I use my coaching skills every day in the way I listen and respond to others (and myself).
Tell me about your new business venture.
I am BEYOND excited to launch my new business, WellHaus Coaching. I offer 1:1 coaching for clients who are facing a significant life transition (whether by choice or circumstance) and/or clients who are craving change in any facet of their lives with well-being at the core of everything we do together.
What are you passionate about within your work?
There is no greater joy to me than creating space for someone to discover their true potential and find the strength to live more in line with their values. I believe in coaching so wholeheartedly and find that I am so much more equipped to manage life’s ups and downs because I have the tools to coach myself in the moment, using curiosity as my compass. The power of truly listening to someone and asking the right questions that not only show you hear them, but also challenges them to think differently or shift their behaviors is incredible. Coaching doesn’t end with a set of sessions, clients learn tools for a lifetime.
From where do you draw inspiration for what you do?
I thrive on breaking down barriers – helping people see themselves or situations differently and building their resilience. I draw a lot of motivation from my own experiences being coached – how the right questions and having someone listen (really listen) to my words has fundamentally changed how I see myself and how I have been able to let go of old stories or behaviors that didn’t serve me. I am surrounded by friends and colleagues who feel pressured to behave certain ways or who are holding onto their own limiting beliefs, and I feel it’s my purpose to support them.
What’s one thing people may not know about you right away, but definitely influences who you are as a business owner?
My family, including my two amazing (and WILD) children are a huge influence on my coaching – constantly encouraging my curiosity and challenging me personally to consistently recalibrate, define self-care in light of total chaos, set boundaries, listen differently and learn what it means to give myself and others grace.
Who has had the most influence on you as a creative person?
Ohhh great question! I like to think it was my years of arts & crafts at summer camp, but the truth is I’ve always been someone that loves creativity and celebrates it in others. I am surrounded by incredible friends, family and colleagues that all honor (and encourage) different ways of thinking.
Who is your ideal client?
My ideal client is someone that is ready for change and willing to be fully present during our time together. One of the best parts of coaching is that no one needs to have all the answers and there’s no perfection, simply showing up and being open minded during the process is the key ingredient.
What’s next for you?
While I have been coaching for over 6 years, I am finally launching my own coaching practice in addition to my full time job at a large consulting firm. Between that and two toddlers, I am fully occupied for the foreseeable future and am excited to see what unfolds next. 🙂
