I’m excited to introduce you to #REHPlovebirds through their Meridian Hill Park engagement photos in Washington, D.C.!
#REHPlovebirds
Yep, these two are #REHPlovebirds, meaning I will be photographing their wedding this year! Woot woot! I had the opportunity to meet them this past fall when I took their engagement photos. They wanted to include multiple spots that had special meaning to them in the city, so we did an extended session so we could include all three locations: Capitol Hill, Meridian Hill park, and a new to me spot near Meridian Hill Park! So fun!
The New Extended Session
Late last year I had quite a few couples and even branding and graduation session clients requesting to include multiple locations in their photo session. I typically spend about 90 minutes with my clients for their sessions, and we choose one location with lots of background options within walking distance. That’s worked out well over the years for so many folks. With these new requests I wanted to find a way to make sure they still got plenty of time in front of the camera while including the multiple locations, and still sticking to the two hour magic hour window.
That’s how the ‘extended session’ was born! With the extended session, we make full use of that two hour ‘magic hour’ period, scheduling the session for two hours instead of 90 minutes. That extra thirty minutes gives us some travel time (and still enough time to do an outfit change), and allows for my clients to still have about 90 minutes of time in front of the camera. Win / win!
Tour de DC
So yes, that’s what we did for this engagement session! We started out at Capitol Hill and managed to get photos in two beautiful locations there, plus some beautiful ring pics. Then we made our way to the Meridian Hill Park neighborhood to finish up. On the way to the park, they showed me a super cute little alley with a mural on the wall above them that just happened to match their outfits! Score! haha We finished up the two hours at Meridian Hill Park, and all along the way got beautiful photos for these two love birds!
Excited to see you two in just a few short months for your wedding!
I love these photos so much! What a good looking couple!
Look at this cool spot they showed me!
