HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!
micro WEDDINGS
elopements
I’m constantly on the look out for silver linings through the past year, and one of my favorites to recognize is how so many couples are making the most of their circumstances and celebrating their relationship and marriage in beautiful ways unique to their life together. Such was the case for Karen and Sam’s Bull Wine Winery wedding last fall in Centreville, Virginia.
Should I or Shouldn’t I?
I’ve sometimes questioned how often I should reference the pandemic in blog posts, wondering if I should leave it out because people may not want to be reminded of a possibly painful, stressful time. I’ve chosen instead to just share what I see. I see couples facing challenges together, head on. They get to decide what’s aligned for them and go from there to design a celebration that may not be what they always envisioned, but still honors their love in ways that are special and meaningful to them. I think that’s remarkable, admirable, and should be acknowledged.
Grace Under Pressure
One such couple who managed to rearrange their wedding plans with so much grace was Karen and Sam. Karen and Sam completely changed their original destination wedding where all their friends and family would be in attendance, to an intimate, outdoor Bull Run Winery wedding celebration. They chose the spot because they have fond memories there of time spent with friends, and wanted to extend that connection with celebrating their wedding. Sounds like a great idea to me!
Of course, a winery!
Karen and Sam love spending time together doing everyday life things like cooking, trying new restaurants, playing poker, and they love to spend time outdoors biking, traveling, and visiting wineries. It made sense that they would choose such a beautiful place for their Bull Run Winery wedding!
About a dozen local friends and family joined Karen and Sam for their ceremony at ‘the ruins’, and then the newlyweds and I spent some time making our way around the property to the multiple gorgeous spots for their portraits. Besides Karen and Sam’s connection to the winery, Bull Run Winery is just a wonderful location for portraits! Check out those rolling hills covered in vines and all the beautiful flowers in the garden area!
Congratulations and best wishes, love birds!
Love this picture so much! Just look how they look at each other!
