What a beautiful family I get to share with you today for their Daingerfield Island maternity photos!
Larissa and Drew are expecting their second child, and wanted to document this special time with a family photo session mixed with a maternity session. I’ve actually done two of these split sessions lately, and I gotta say – I love it! We do the first half of the sesh as a typical family mini, and the second half as a mini maternity or couple’s session. It works out well because we take photos with the little one(s) first while their attention is fresh, and then let them rest while we take pics of their parents.
Anyway, back to Larissa, Drew, and their adorable, photogenic daughter, Layla, for their Daingerfield Island maternity photos. Not only was Layla photogenic (the camera loves her!), she also seemed to really enjoy having her photo taken. She was so smiley and cooperative, some might say downright excited to have her picture taken!
This family loves to spend time outdoors, including the beach, so I thought a Daingerfield Island maternity photos session was just the thing for them! There aren’t many beaches in the immediate vicinity of D.C., but Daingerfield Island has the whole marina / waterfront vibe. There is a small beach, but it was high tide while we were there, so we skipped it and focused on the beautiful piers.
I have to give this family props for their outfit choices. They were perfectly coordinated without being matchy-matchy, and the colors fit in with the location amazingly well. Just look at them! The pinks and blues gently pop off the watery background. Great work y’all!
Did this post get you excited to book your own maternity, anniversary, or newborn session?! If yes, send me a note and we can chat about what you have in mind: contact me
