SO excited to share Ali and Brendan’s summer Georgetown engagement photos with you today! We had quite the journey to get to take these photos, and it all worked out because these pics are amazing!
Brendan contacted me back in March, right about as the stay at home order was being issued. At the time we had no idea how long it would last and felt pretty safe scheduling a photo shoot to capture his proposal at the end of April. We were so naive, haha!
I wasn’t able to capture Brendan’s proposal to Ali, but to hear them each describe it – he did a wonderful job! He enlisted his sister to help set up a picnic by a creek at a National Park in Ellicott City, MD. Brendan and Ali took their dog, Boz, on a hike through the woods and wound up at the picnic spot where Brendan ended up popping the question. So sweet!
Since I wasn’t able to be there to capture the proposal, we switched gears to a summer Georgetown engagement photos session at the end of June. Ali and Brendan love the look of Georgetown, so we chose that as the location for their summer Georgetown engagement photos. The most magical part was we were scheduled for an evening shoot, but there was rain in the forecast so we rescheduled for sunrise the following morning. That made it possible for us to shoot at the boardwalk, which would’ve been impossible in the evening because it’s always swarmed with people!
Ali also had the brilliant idea to incorporate the pier that used to be part of the old bridge going across the Potomac to Rosslyn. She lived in Rosslyn and Brendan lived in D.C., so it was the perfect way to incorporate how they came together.
It was so fun to see how connected and joyful this pair is. These two were made to have their picture taken together! And clearly they’re just the perfect match. I could tell how much Brendan adores Ali, and how much Ali supports and respects Brendan. They had no trouble laughing, smiling, joking, and snuggling throughout their entire session. And their photos turned out beautiful because of that!
