It’s Memorial Day! While I’m excited to share more about my weekend playing DC engagement photographer, I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge the meaning of this holiday.
In my former career I had the honor of working with active and retired military professionals, many of whom were vets of Gulf Storm, as well as the more Iraqi and Afghanistan wars. I’m fortunate to personally not know anyone who perished in those wars, but I know many folks in the D.C. area, including those I worked with, did. On this Memorial Day, my heart is with anyone who has lost a loved one either in the war or after due to side effects, including PTSD.
The rest of this weekend was full of work and rest. On Friday I got to be a DC engagement photographer, and go out to Delaplane, Virginia, to Sky Meadows State Park for Sarah and Eric’s engagement session. I was excited to finally meet these two #REHPlovebirds after rescheduling their engagement session a couple times due to COVID-19 restrictions. You’ll see more of them on the blog later this week, but here are some sneak peeks for ya!
Saturday was spent designing an album for a surprise gift to some recent clients, catching up on other work, enjoying the day around the house, and getting to bed early. Pretty simple!
Sunday I got up bright and early… some might say unnaturally early haha After two months of not working, rising before the sun was pretty tough! But it was totally worth it to capture Lizzie and Ameet’s engagement session!
After a nap, boyfriend, Milli, and I spent the day on the couch, working, watching TV, and eating! haha The perfect type of day after an early morning. Have you seen Dead to Me on Netflix? It’s so good! We finished the second season and moved on to an oldie but goodie – The Addams Family! I used to love those movies when I was a kid, so it was fun to rewatch.
Today we watched Knives Out (also really good!), went for a long walk around the neighborhood, and did more eating and TV watching #quarantinelife
Check back this week for a post with Sarah & Eric’s engagement photos and another with tips on how to choose a picture perfect wedding bouquet. I hope you had a fun holiday weekend!
