HI, I'M RACHEL!
welcome!
micro WEDDINGS
elopements
I am not a cold weather fan, as many of you probably know. But there is something about that winter light that has me *almost* a convert. We had a gorgeous sunrise and perfect light for Micaela and Zach’s D.C. winter engagement photos last weekend!
Micaela and Zach got engaged at such a fun D.C. area spot – Gravelly Point! And they’re tying the knot this June in Mexico, and were excited to highlight the city where they live in their D.C. winter engagement photos. They figured their wedding was going to include the warm weather vibe; their engagement photos might as well feature the opposite – a winter chill!
It was definitely chilly (and windy!) the morning of their D.C. winter engagement photos, and I love how Micaela and Zach totally went with it and highlighted the season with their stylish coats, boots, and Micaela’s adorable hat! I think that was so smart! They stayed warm during the first part of the shoot and then got fancy (and chilly) for the second, somewhat shorter part. Again, so smart!
These two love birds are from the west coast, and as I said, are getting married in Mexico, and they live here in D.C. All very different aesthetics as far as landscapes and architecture. Since they really wanted to highlight the city where they live and got engaged, Micaela and Zach chose to do a longer, 2 hour session for their D.C. winter engagement photos. That way they got to show off the monuments/the mall as well as a unique-to-D.C. feature – Georgetown row houses.
Congratulations and best wishes love birds!
