Do you remember Blake and Susan’s proposal from this summer? Well, Blake was thoughtful enough to refer me to Nick when he heard Nick was going to be proposing to his girlfriend. And thus brings us to today, where I get to share these Meridian Hill Park surprise proposal photos!
Nick and Julie enjoy doing all kinds of fun stuff around the D.C. area, like hiking, cooking, laughing their way through comedy shows, and trying new restaurants. The trying new restaurants part totally played into Nick’s favor when it came to planning how he would surprise Julie with a proposal!
Nick came up with the idea to plan a full day of fun surprises for his proposal by telling Julie that his brother was coming to town. That gave him the excuse to plan a bunch of activities around the city so Julie would block out her schedule for the day. At the last minute, Nick’s brother ‘cancelled’ his visit, so Nick and Julie carried on with the plans on their own – wink wink! haha
Nick took Julie to a delicious brunch at a new-to-them restaurant, before walking over for their Meridian Hill Park surprise proposal! Nick and I had met up a couple weekends prior to scope out the perfect spot. And come on, there is no more perfect spot at that park than directly in front of the waterfall fountain! Even when the water isn’t in the fountain, it’s an undeniably picturesque spot!
Julie and Nick made their way to the center of the fountain and poof! He was down on one knee! And the rest of their Meridian Hill Park surprise proposal is history! They had some sweet moments together before Nick introduced me. We took some portraits around the park, a few snaps of her ring, and then the two newly engaged love birds were off for another surprise! Nick had their families come together for a little party to celebrate the big occasion!
Nick did a wonderful job of coordinating everything and creating a wonderful experience for his new fiancee! Congratulations and best wishes, love birds!!
