What do you do when your first neighborhood as a newbie in D.C. is near the National Cathedral? You do your engagement photos, there, duh! I am *so* excited to share with you Justine and Kevin’s National Cathedral engagement photos!
Justine and Kevin are not only newbies to the D.C. area, they’re newbs to being engaged as well! Just about two months ago, these two love birds were all set to move to D.C. from NYC, when just days before they hit the road, Kevin popped the question! What a fun start to their new lives in a brand new city!
Justine, Kevin, and their pup, Zeus, love their new neighborhood in the city, and had actually never been to the National Cathedral before. They drive past it all the time, so they knew how gorgeous and picturesque it is, and figured it would be a beautiful place to do their engagement session. And boy were they right!
I was super excited for Justine and Kevin’s National Cathedral engagement photos session because I too had never been there before. And I’m not new to the city! In fact I’ve lived in the D.C. area my entire life and somehow managed to never make it to the cathedral. That’s one reason I love my job; I have an excuse to go to beautiful, new-to-me places all the time! I took Milli a couple days before this session so I could get the lay of the land, and was so inspired by the cathedral building, Bishop’s garden, and the way the light was hitting each spot. I knew it was going to be good!
Like many of my clients, Justine and Kevin insisted they weren’t going to be great in front of the camera for their National Cathedral engagement photos… and then they totally were! These two are total naturals and are clearly so in love and excited to get married. They were laughing and joking the whole time, and it felt like they were just hanging out like they normally do, which is my favorite thing to capture. And probably why these photos turned out so well!
