Kate and Mike’s Old Angler’s engagement photos session had all the makings of a perfect photo shoot: happy, much in love couple + gorgeous light + cute outfits + scenic location + enjoyable weather. These two had a wonderful night together and it shows in their photos!
Kate and Mike are both resident doctors (they met in med school in Pennsylvania), and moved to D.C. for their respective resident programs. (How lucky is that they both got residencies in D.C.?!) They’ve been living in the city for about two years now and love it here, of course! They even got engaged here, at City Center! So romantic! When they’re not working, they’re super active – playing soccer and racketball, doing yoga, kayaking, biking – you name it!
Which leads us to their location selection for their Old Angler’s engagement photos. As I mentioned, Kate and Mike love to do outdoors activities. They often come to the C&O Canal entry point across from Old Angler’s Inn Restaurant to kayak and bike. They decided it would be a great spot to do their engagement photos!
We could not have gotten a better night to shoot at this location for Kate and Mike’s Old Angler’s engagement photos! It was seriously the perfect summer evening – there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, so the sun was super bright and glowy streaming through the trees – just like I like! And since it was a Sunday evening, there weren’t too many people out and about on the tow path – except for one very awkward and interested canal monitor, who kindly told us there was a better location for photos down the road. Um… one look at these images will tell you he was wrong! haha
These two were total naturals in front of the camera and clearly love each other so much! Best wishes to Kate and Mike on the rest of your engagement and your Pittsburgh wedding in October!
