HI, I'M RACHEL!

It’s so fun getting to work with married couples and kind of see the other side of things from the sessions I’m usually doing. Alyssa and Brandon were in D.C. for work and wanted to commemorate their time here with a classic Capitol Hill portraits session, and I just loved getting to work with them!
Alyssa and Brandon are from Texas, and were in town while Brandon did some training for work. Alyssa joined him here and since they love to travel and value photography, they wanted to do a this classic Capitol Hill portraits session while visiting. Love! They both enjoy history and wanted to include D.C. landmarks in their photos. Done, done… and done! We managed to work in three quintessential D.C. buildings to their portrait session: the Capitol building, Supreme Court, and Library of Congress.
As I mentioned, it’s fun getting to work with couples who are married, for many reasons. I loved that Alyssa and Brandon have had their portraits taken together multiple times, so they were comfortable with each other in front of the camera. It was fun to see their interactions! And I figure that when you’re engaged or getting married, photography is naturally on the docket for things that go along with those two milestones. If you’re married and you’re booking a photo session, it’s because you really value having professional photos to document your lives together. Alyssa and Brandon were still in celebration mode for their classic Capitol Hill portraits and I just love seeing that idea in motion!
Alyssa and Brandon were so sweet to get to know, and like I said, great together in front of the camera! They were totally up for going back and forth between the locations to make sure we had the best light (we started at SCOTUS, then went to the LoC, then back to SCOTUS, then over to the Capitol). I feel like we got a workout in with all the back and forth! But it was worth it, because between paying attention to the good light, having a couple look so amazing with their stylish outfits, and their natural interactions together, we got some gorgeous photos!
