Katie and Luke are engaged!! I’m so excited to share with you Katie and Luke’s Capitol Hill proposal portraits – they are so special!
Each of my clients finds me at different stages of their planning process, whether it’s for a proposal, engagement, or wedding. Luke ended up booking his Capitol Hill proposal portraits months in advance, and I think that’s a testament to how excited he was to propose to and be engaged to his best friend!
Luke and I had a few discussions and email exchanges in the months leading up to his proposal to Katie and each time I could just hear in his voice the excitement to carry out his plan. Katie and her family were going to be visiting D.C. as a celebration for her college graduation. Luke was joining them for a few days and it was on this trip he planned to pop the question!
Proposals happen all different ways, and we did something kind of unique for Luke’s proposal. We had some extravagant plans and ultimately Luke decided Katie would want to be proposed to in private before our session. He surprised her at their AirB&B the night before, outside under twinkle lights, after a Nats game (Katie’s a huge fan!). Turns out – Luke was right – that was exactly what Katie wanted!
How it all worked out beautifully…
One of the cool things about the way Luke popped the question was that it allowed Katie to be involved in the planning of her Capitol Hill proposal portraits! I gave them several location options around the city and Katie chose Capitol Hill – quintessential D.C. I had the best time with them and am excited for all they have planned!
Congratulations and best wishes to Luke and Katie!!
