Graduation portrait sessions are quickly becoming one of my favorite types of occasions to photograph, and Elesia’s National Mall graduation portraits session is high on the list of reasons why!
Why I love graduation portraits sessions
It’s so fun getting to meet these intelligent, ambitious, capable woman who have accomplished a big goal and want to celebrate their success with professional portraits. They’ve invested in their future through education and are investing in themselves by commemorating their graduation with a portrait session. I love everything about that!
Elesia was recently in town from Boston where she now lives and works, to celebrate her graduation from Johns Hopkins University (!!!) after getting her Masters in Economics. The morning of her graduation ceremony we met at sunrise at the Lincoln Memorial for her National Mall graduation portraits. I had the best time getting to know Elesia, who is not only smart, but really funny and fun to be around.
The quintessential D.C. vibe
Elesia wanted a quintessential D.C. feel for her National Mall graduation portraits because she loves D.C., so of course we chose the Lincoln Memorial to start off. We went from the reflecting pool up to the Memorial halls, then down to the tree lined walkway over to the D.C. War Memorial to wrap up. All while making Elesia feel like a famous person having her picture taken all over the Mall! haha!
A hearty heartfelt congratulations to Elesia on her Masters graduation!!
