After taking these Capitol Hill anniversary portraits for Ruth and David this week, I’m having second thoughts about the Lincoln Memorial being my favorite spot in D.C. for portraits!
Ruth and David used to live in D.C. and recently moved to the west coast for work. They have so many fond memories here and really love the city, so it was natural for them to want Capitol Hill anniversary portraits in the city!
I guess I should back up and say that Ruth and David were visiting D.C. for Ruth’s law school graduation. Ruth graduated over the weekend from Georgetown Law School and wanted portraits to commemorate their time in D.C. She said she’s been excited to document their lives together in all the fun places they’ve lived and traveled so far during their three year marriage.
I love the idea of Capitol Hill for a law school grad! It’s the best triad of the Capitol building, Library of Congress, and the Supreme Court – all super picturesque structures. I was definitely excited to take Ruth and David’s Capitol Hill anniversary portraits there on such a beautiful spring morning.
Happy anniversary to Ruth and David, and happy graduation week to Ruth!
