Washington D.C. Wedding Photography – Best of 2018
I know, I know, we’re closer to February than we are to the very beginning of the new year, but… who cares?! haha I’m excited to share with you some of my favorite, strike that my best of 2018 Washington D.C. wedding photography!
I’m not sure how other photographers rank their best of Washington D.C. wedding photography, but the way I did this was by choosing my personal favorite images of the year. I chose photos where the people in them looked like they were full of joy on their wedding day, photos where I was able to really capture the essence of the moment, and photos where I think I kind of knocked it out of the park composition wise and editing wise. I’m also very partial to portraits, so you’re going to see a LOT of portraits in this post!
I was on the fence about doing a couple ‘best of’ posts this year, and then I was going through some of my images to choose which ones to submit to the Shoot and Share contest last week and realized it was fun going back through the images from the past year! I thought a great way to continue reminiscing would be to do a Washington D.C. wedding photography best of post with some of my favorite images from 2018.
It was so hard to narrow it down because I love all of the images I create for my couples! I really love what I do and it’s such an honor to get to know such wonderful people and be there with them to celebrate one of the most special and joyful days of their lives. I had an inspector come to my apartment last week and after looking at my office, he said, “so it looks like you have one of the best jobs in the world, huh? Photography.” And I just loved that he explained it that way! It was fun hearing someone who isn’t a photographer acknowledge that I really do have one of the best jobs in the whole world!
In 2018 I had the opportunity to be the second photographer at some truly beautiful and touching weddings, and I got to work with some of the best photographers in our area (IMHO). In this post you’ll see images I shot and edited from some of those weddings alongside weddings I photographed for my own couples. In total, and including courthouse weddings, I was present to witness and photograph 28 weddings last year, including my own father’s wedding! Phew! What an amazing year!
