HI, I'M RACHEL!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’m one lucky photographer, and the River Farm engagement photos I’m sharing with you today are another wonderful example of why!
What I loved about planning Nina and Alex’s session was Nina had such a beautiful vision for their shoot! After she described what she was looking for, it dawned on me that River Farm engagement photos would be the perfect fit!
I’ve been wanting to do a session at River Farm since the summer, and little did I know I was waiting for the right couple to come along who would love this venue as much as I do! I think we were all a little thrown off by the vast difference between the look of the venue in the late autumn as opposed to how it looked in the summer (see these photos here), but once we took a look around and got comfortable, I think we all saw the beauty that exists in late autumn River Farm!
I think it was Nina and Alex’s sense of adventure and willingness to try new things that drew them to a more barren River Farm. They were totally down to brush off a little rainy drizzle and rock their classic black and white outfits even in the chilly late autumn weather. They also volunteered to show me their dance moves on the back patio, and got to dance in the rain at their River Farm engagement photos session – how romantic is that?!
My favorite part of the session with this playful couple was how they would look at each other and start laughing or kiss without me even having to tell them to! I loved witnessing and capturing that connection between these two love birds.
I have to give these two props: at the end of the session we decided to head to a Verizon store along the drive home for the last shots, since Nina and Alexa met at a Verizon store (how sweet is that?!). I let them know my phone was about to die and that I would meet them there. Well, my phone died immediately when I got in the car, and as luck would have it, I hit traffic due to an accident, and basically didn’t move for 30 minutes. I was worried we wouldn’t be able to get those final shots. Once I finally made it to the store, there they were, waiting for me! They waited for probably 30 minutes for me to get there – and didn’t leave! What a loyal pair these two are 🙂 We were able to get a few shots under an umbrella in the rain, and I think it was the perfect way to end their session!
Congratulations and best wishes to Nina and Alex on your engagement!
